THE STORY OF ME
Check out this fun interview that's all about me!
I have always had a love for reading and writing. So it’s no wonder I ended up in a job where I get to do a lot of both! I got my start 20 years ago at OWL Magazine, as its managing editor. But, once I had kids, I left that nest and began working as a freelance writer and editor, with a focus on children's content. I am still a regular contributor to OWL, and I also currently contribute to the CBC Kids' website. Along the way, I have helped develop content for several kids' websites and projects.
For years, one of my biggest dreams was to write a children’s book. In the spring of 2013, my first book called Weird Zone: Sports was published. My other books include Tastes Like Music: 17 Quirks of the Brain and Body, A Beginner's Guide to Immortality: From Alchemy to Avatars, Biometrics: Your Body and the Science of Security, and Acting Wild: How We Behave Like Birds, Bugs, and Beasts. I have a couple more books on the way, including Snooze-O-Rama: The Strange Ways That Animals Sleep.
When I’m not busy writing, you’ll find me hanging out with my two favourite people on the planet -- my son and daughter. We spend lots of time riding our bikes, catching up on our fave TV shows, playing video games, and keeping busy at the cottage. And every once in a while, they convince me to go out on a limb and try something I’d rather not, like a loop-de-loop roller coaster or zip lining!
And that’s my story... so far.
